Economics Experience Day 25 June

1-2pm: What is the Budget?
Understanding how government raises and spends money and the implications for women: This is an interactive session facilitated by the Womens Budget Group (WBG): In this session you will be Chancellor of the Exchequer for a day and in charge of the country’s finances. Your goal is gender equality so how to make sure the money follows the commitment? You will learn through practice what the Budget process entails and grapple with the question: how to ensure public services are high quality and universal and how to raise money to fund them?

2-2:15pm: Break

2:15-3:00pm: Panel Discussion: A day in the life of an Economist
In this session, you will hear from 5 economists spanning a number of sectors that will tell you what their job involves. Learn about career options of economic graduates.

3:00-3:30pm: Q&A
Get a chance to talk with economists, academics and students and get your questions answered !
