LET’S TALK: MENTAL HEALTH Online Workshops for Parents, Carers and Special Guardians (24 May 2021 18:00-19:30) – Event
In the current climate, it is more important than ever that we support children and young people’s mental health. That’s why we at Solent University are teaming up with Hampshire’s leading mental health charity, Solent Mind, to offer a series of free mental health workshops to support young people, their parents and carers and the education practitioners that engage with them on a daily basis. This 90 minute session will help parents gain an understanding of mental health and wellbeing and how someone experiencing mental ill health might feel. We’ll also examine ways of maintaining our own mental health and wellbeing. The session will culminate in a 30-minute Q&A panel with Paul Overton, Head of Bitterne Park, Sixth Form, Clare Grant, Assistant Director of Solent Mind and Helena Kelsey, Southern Universities Network Project Lead and Academic Resilience practitioner.
