Medicine Virtual Work Experience

Applications are now open for two Medicine Virtual Work Experience. This programme is open to all students from Year 10 upwards however there are places set aside for students who meet 2 widening participation criteria. The criteria is:

First generation applicant to Higher Education
Parents, guardian or self in receipt of a means tested benefit
Young people looked after by a Local Authority or you have been in care or looked after for three months or more
In receipt of 16-19 bursary or similar grant
Resident in an area with a postcode which falls within the lowest 20% of the IMD (Index of Multiple Deprivation), or a member of a travelling family.
In receipt of free school meals at any time during Years 10-13 (normally for a minimum period of at least one school term/2 months.)
Eligible for the UCAT Bursary
Participation in a recognised outreach or widening participation programme
The programme will be delivered online between 9am and 3pm on Monday 30th May, Tuesday 31st May, and Wednesday 1st June.

The timetable is being finalised at the moment, but may include the following:

Operating Theatre
Ward Rounds
Apprenticeship Opportunities
Opportunity to speak to current medical students
Opportunities to speal with a number of clinicians representing Pharmacy, Histopathology, Cardiac Physiology more TBC

You will need to be available for all days to participate.
