What are ‘Transferable Skills’?
A transferable skill is a talent or a quality that you gain from one area of your life that can use in another. For example, when you practice your musical instrument regularly, you are using the skills of ‘self-discipline.’ Self-discipline is a really important skill for University because you have to manage your own workload. Another example is when you work part-time in a shop and speak to members of the public, you are showcasing good communication skills which are also applicable when doing group-work at college.
