At the Department of Theology and Religion at the University of Exeter, we want to hear your ideas about religion!

The best entry will receive a university hoody and a £100 Amazon voucher.

We’re inviting A-Level, BTEC and IB students in any subject to send us 1,000 words on one of the following big questions:

– Would the world be better off without religion?
– Should everyone have to study religion at school?
– Does learning about religion make us look back to the past, or forward to the future?

You can write in any way you like – an essay, a poem, a piece of creative writing – the more imaginative the better! The competition will be judged by a panel of expert academics in Theology and Religion.

To enter, simply email your piece to Dr Rebekah Welton in the Department of Theology and Religion:

Be sure to include your name, age, school, details of the A Levels, BTEC or IB you are
studying, and the name of a teacher who knows you are entering.

Email all essays for consideration to by 12 noon
(UK time) on Friday 17 July 2020.

On Monday 10 August 2020 we will announce the winner and share on our Discover University Facebook page.
