Young Person’s Advisory Group

Prof. Mary Barker is currently in the process of recruiting Young People aged between 15-19 to join a Young Person’s Advisory Group, meetings are to be held in Southampton, most likely at the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Centre at Southampton General Hospital.

As a member of the Professional Young Persons’ Advisory Group, you will be expected to spend 3 hours per week for a period of 12 weeks from the beginning of September to the end of November 2022 completing tasks set at a weekly meeting. We will meet as a group for 1 hour every week where we will discuss various research ideas involving young people and think about ways these can be developed.
You will then be given some tasks to complete independently. You will be part of a team of students who have been chosen to help advise the University of Southampton on research into young people’s health and well-being.

The role is for 3 months and will be paid with travel reimbursed, please see attached documents for more details and information of how to apply.

We are looking to recruit a group of 6-8 young people, preferably based in the City of Southampton who will be employed by us (via Uni Workforce and local authority if applicable) and would be able to attend weekly meetings for 12 weeks from the beginning of September to the end of November.
