University of Chester
At Chester our students get everything that counts. A Personal Academic Tutor to help them develop as a person and a student. A range of quality courses made even better with excellent teaching. Subject-specific campuses with outstanding specialist facilities, and an education experience that gives our students skills for life.
This year we’ve been nominated in the Whatuni? Student Choice Awards for the Top Ten in job prospects, student support, local life and our offering to international students. These categories cover aspects of university life such as academic, practical and emotional support; lifestyle outside of lectures; and the best chance of success after graduation. These nominations are based on votes from our very own students, so it’s something we’re really proud of.
We’re big on offering our students real-world opportunities through our unique Work Based Learning module and relevant work or research placements, which give our students the opportunity to test-drive a future career, boost their CV and gain real experience. These opportunities challenge and inspire our students, and put them a step ahead when they graduate. Our real-world opportunities also take our students abroad; we offer a year of studying abroad at more than 300 institutions.
A bit more about us:
We’re 2nd in the North West for teaching quality (The Times Good University Guide 2020).
In the National Student Survey 2019, we were scored above the sector-wide average for Overall Satisfaction, as we have been for the last five years.
96% of our UK undergraduate students are in employment or further study six months after graduation (DLHE 2016/7).
Chester Students’ Union was ranked as a Top 10 Students’ Union in the 2019 WhatUni? Student Choice Awards.
Founded in 1839, before becoming a university in 2005, we pre-date all but a handful of other English higher education providers.
