The University of Southampton
At Southampton we share your passion to learn and encourage your desire to explore and evolve in a friendly and vibrant community. We are one of the founding members of the prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive universities. We offer a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across: arts and humanities, engineering and physical sciences, environmental and life sciences, medicine, and social sciences.
We have five campuses in Southampton, as well as Winchester School of Art and University of Southampton Malaysia. We have a huge amount of specialist facilities, including a wind tunnel complex for aerodynamics project work, a nanofabrication centre and health science skills labs. Highfield is our main campus; it is home to cutting-edge teaching and research facilities, the Students’ Union, our sports centre, well-stocked shop, student-run cinema, healthcare facilities and banks, as well as our beautiful green spaces.
We are home to a 260-seat cinema, a 1,700-capacity entertainment venue, two internationally renowned arts venues, and six on-campus gyms. We have spaces for both focused and informal study, and spaces to unwind with your friends. Our Students’ Union offers plenty of opportunities for you to try something new, compete in a sport you love, or give back to the local community. We have over 300 clubs and societies to explore from spaceflight and Quidditch to entrepreneurship and caving. We have over 90 sports clubs and 40 performing arts groups – there’s something for everyone.
